I was hoping this beer would be better than the other sours as Ecliptic does some really good beers, in my opinion this isn't one of them. Not enough peach flavor and too much sour flavor.

On-tap at Bittercreek; hazy golden liquid with minimal head; fruity bite and sweetness/tartness on the nose. More of the same on the palate, peach flavors and fruity lemon sourness, tartness. Decent.

Thus far I have consumed three of these and I have a good idea how I am going to rate this. They were consumed last year; therefore they were fresher. This beer has hibernated in the fridge since then. Using a tulip glass, I served the beer at 42 degree. The pour created an airy and frothy two-fingered off white head. The retention of the head is okay, and it dissipated quickly. No lacing was left on the glass after dissipation. The color is charting somewhere near SRM 8, golden yellow with vibrant amber hues. The clarity is somewhat hazy with a few carbonation bubble dancing on the sides of the glass. The appearance is average for this style, would have like to seen a longer lasting head with some lacing.
Nosing the glass, I detect peaches, acidic acid, light floral esters, a touch of herbal, and a hint of barnyard funk. The aromas are typical, yet I wanted to have more peach aromas come through.
The beer still taste like it did. Bitter peaches, sour lemons, toasty malts, light barnyard funk, and floral esters finish the flavors I detected.
The mouthfeel is puckering and dry. The body is light, high effervescent, and a quick finish.
Drinking more sour beers, I am getting to know a feel for what is good and what is meh. This one is just okay, I wanted more peachy flavors then and now. The sourness is good and not overly puckering. The malt backbone is solid and gives the beer a bit more character.

Taster at Loyal Legion. Clear, medium golden pour, light, airy head. Light aroma of peaches. Taste too is pretty lightweight. Fruity, but disappears fast.

L: A solid 2 inch white fizzy head, several very large single bubbles. SRM about 6. Slightly orange hue and transparent with a slight haze. Well carbonated.
S: Pre-ripe peach. Malt backbone immediately cuts the fruity sweetness. Rather gentle, not in your face fruit.
T: A soft peach flavor followed by a bit of citrus, and then a moderate sour, all cut off on the finish by the malt. Sour aspect is rather funky in a good way.
F: Heavily carbonated and not bitter. Any booziness is overshadowed by other flavor characteristics.
I was highly impressed with Ecliptic's peach sour, The nose and palate were unusually alluring, not quite hitting the same each time and the ever slight haze made the beer glow in the glass. As for mouthfeel, it was not exceptional nor unpleasant. This is a sour I would enjoy on even a winter night over a traditional hefty ale.

You know what? Raul is into this one like a Robert Horry 3-pointer in the 2nd quarter. Yeah, Vlade didn’t tip this one out to the point to Robert for him to nail the game winner. Again, it’s just a run of the mill 3 in the 2nd quarter. I say that because this beer wont blow your socks off like Sonne Vloet in her latest onesie - it’s more like the hot chick at Target who rang up your last sock purchase. Not bad at all, but not super model quality.
Alright... Here we have an ok sour, but the key thing is that it was only $4.99! Yes! If this sucker was $18 (like the rest of em), it would be a disappointment. But in reality, this is like ordering an ok chick from the back of an OC Weekly mag, and her actually showing up.

500ml bottle served in a nonic glass. No bottle dating.
L- Slightly hazy golden orange color. Small bright white head that quickly recedes to a thin foam cap, light lacing. Light carbonation streams visible.
S- Yeasty funk, coriander, peach flesh, bread dough.
T- Tangy peach and tangerine/lemon, coriander and yeast.
F- Medium/light bodied, crisp and very tangy, crushable. Medium carbonation on the tongue.
O- A really delicious sour. A great brew for a hot day hanging on the back porch.

The smell of fresh -peeled peaches right off the tree when sitting on grandma's porch on an August afternoon somewhere south of the Mason-Dixon line. Good color and clarity, light head, low carbonation. Like a peach wine notes with the grain base giving it substance and staying power on the tongue. The yeast gives it a funky flavor and more complexity. Sip,it until it warms a little and some woody /stone fruit comes out. Well-done.
