Located out in the coldest twilight of our solar system, Sedna is a minor planet of mysterious origin. We pay our respects with this deep, velvety full-flavored beer. Brewed with vanilla, coffee, and chocolate, Sedna is a perfect nightcap for those dark nights.

Straight-up brown color. Not much head, although light brown. No lacing
Nice. It smells like brownies. Very slight dried dark fruit. Maraschino cherries, but without the cloying sweetness. I get shades of chicory, but that nice sweet chocolate scent pervades everything.
In the taste, lots of coffee, with a lactic element. Chocolate is moderate. And yes, the combination is definitely tiramisu. It has slightly bitter dark malt. Cherry is detectable. The taste does come back around to that tiramisu combination.
Aftertaste has the taste diminished, but the bitterness hangs out on the back of my tongue, even though it's tolerable. Alcohol feel is moderate, weight is moderate. Carbonation is moderate for the type.

Pours a deep garnet hued chocolate brown with a thinner beige head atop.Espresso roast coffee really jumps out at ya in the nose followed by some vanilla, the roast and earthy tones really hit home.Roast and char again hit up front followed by some vanilla and underlying chocolate wich doesn't pack the same punch as the roasted notes,a little lighter feeling in the back end. This beer is so close to being a big hit but the sweeter flavors kinda peter out with the body in the finish.Still a nice beer to have with dessert.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, quality coffee, vanilla and a little cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, quality coffee, milk chocolate and vanilla. Nice lingering slightly charry coffee finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A quite rich, full flavored coffee stout. I can kind of get the tiramisu with the combo of chocolate and vanilla, but it's not that different a profile from a chocolate and vanilla stout. I guess the pastry stout thing makes this inevitable. On the other hand, one of the characters of a well made tiramisu is the silky, creamy layers and this stout does have a very nice silky body. Pastry or not, a well made, full flavored and well balanced stout. Well done. Surprised this isn't getting more love.
