Crisp, mellow, and very fizzy sums it up. Interesting flavor of peach and canteloupe, but very faint. Quite dry and even a little astringent in the finish. I think the bitterness in these Brut IPAs has to be carefully controlled and in this beer it's close to the edge.
This starts with a hint of malt, a whisper of fruity aromatics, but it fades to a virtually flavorless liquid until the bitterness starts to bite. Sip, swallow, and repeat. Not my favorite of the current crop of Bruts. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Haggen Market in Washington.

these guys always do a nice job with the hoppy stuff in my experience, and they have done it again with this one, one of the better brut ipa types i have had to date, just cleaner on the fermentation and not weird from the enzyme, its professionally done, dry, light for its shocking strength, and quite drinkable as they go, very lively and fresh without any chemical weirdness, starchy residuals from the mash, or forced excessive hopping. mostly clear golden brew from the tap with a short but lasting white head on it and plenty of carbonation visible. the aroma is crazy fruity, dry hoppy mostly, with things like pineapple, clementine, and starburst candy jumping out, its new school and attractive. in the flavor i get a little more bitterness from the hops at the end, super fresh though, and still fruity first, southern hemisphere to me, maybe some citra too, but its so forward, maybe a cryo hop thing. lemon, orange juice from concentrate, and white lifesavers. yum. the body is light for the strength and the alcohol is real well hidden. its carbonation super well too, like the fundamentals of the style are well executed here, which unfortunately seems like a rarity these days. pretty aggressively flavored, but an enjoyable glass of beer. i almost always like whatever these guys brew!
