16 oz. Can
Canned: 05/19/21
2021 Edition
Poured into a Trillium glass a very nice cloudy yellow/orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, papaya, melon), nice touch of coconut/vanilla, pretty nice diesel like. The taste is very nice hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, papaya, melon), pretty nice little touch of coconut/vanilla, nice little sweetness, pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer. Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake!

Appearance - Pours a hazy peach with four fingers of dense frothy white head that leaves
Smell - citrus and tropical hops, coconut, vanilla, mandarin, clementine, peach, papaya, mango, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - bold citrus and tropical hops upfront then it goes into the bold coconut and vanilla bean. The mandarin, clementine, peach, papaya, and mango come through next. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops, fruits, coconut and vanilla bean lingering.
Overall - A bold and unique brew that delivers on the coconut and vanilla bean. A very interesting drinking experience as its a meriad of various styles of beer. Well done and nice find here in Cowtown!

definitely not retired as this is currently on tap at their brewery. what a cool beer it is! i was a little nervous about it being overly milkshake, vanilla in hoppy beer tends to mean that, you know, sweet and desserty, tons of lactose, not very ipa-like, but this one is just dynamite, a highlight from our visit here for sure, although the whole experience was a highlight really, these guys rule! the beer is sunny colored between yellow and orange with a tall and frothing white head from the tap, the right amount of hazy, no sediment or heaviness evident. aroma is stunning, fresh pulpy fleshy coconut as natural as can be, a real compatible hop complexion with what seems like very little bitterness and a lot of mango and orange fruitiness to it, not desserty at all either, some light natural vanilla in the mix, but its so cohesive with the malt, the hops, and of course the coconut, the dosing seems perfectly spot on! the flavor is awesome too, coconut and hops well in front of vanilla, both of the added ingredients fully authentic to me, no malt sweetness, apparent milks sugar, and while it might not exactly drink like a normal ipa, its definitely still more hop forward than most of the gimmicky peers this has. i love how drinkable it is for its strength, these could really sneak up on you, i love the pungent coconut way ahead of the vanilla, and whatever hops they picked for this are perfect, slight pineapple notes, not overly tropical cocktail-esque though, beery for sure, enough grain support, creamy soft pillowy and vibrant fresh texture, this drinks amazing outside on a nice summer afternoon, but i would drink this anytime. one of the best beers ive ever had from these guys which is really saying something, and honestly its just incredible. they should consider adding this to the everyday lineup. if you, like i was, are concerned about the vanilla making this thing a new school dessert ipa, trust me, its not, its fantastic. bravo!

500mL bottle from Ecliptic Brewing. 2020 Edition Cosmos Hacy IPA "Coconut & Vanilla". Pretty pearlescent bottle. Milky and orange creamsicle body topped with loads of foamy head. Aroma isn't too strong, but has a distinct tropical / pina-colada essence. More creamsicle in the flavor, which quickly reveals the promised coconut (#1) and vanilla (#2) flavors. Paradoxically this ridiculous flavor pairing in a beer is still also an IPA, with middling bitterness and low Alpha.
I picked this up at Costco, where a month ago I had picked up Silver City's Irresistible Bliss Strawberry Vanilla IPA. I was completely prepared for this to be another nightmare flavor combination that left me regretting my adventure. Thankfully this beer makes none of Silver City's mistakes. Gimmicky, but solidly drinkable.

What a nice seasonal brewpub surprise. From hunky bitterness to flavors as promised (vanilla and coconut), all was present, along with a nice swallow feel. You know what I mean? I loved it! I know - my review sucks.

32 oz crowler from Growler Guys CDA- Pours hazy orange with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is juicy, mandarin, pineapple, subtle coconut. The taste is coconut up front, real authentic toasted coconut, hops backed up any sweetness, less juice than the aroma led on, there is some tropical fruits somewhere in there, nice lingering dry finish. This is excellent.
