Named after a constellation of stars, Tucana Tangerine Sour Ale is crisp and refreshing, with a touch of tangerine that plays nicely with its well-balanced tartness. The twist of citrus shines bright above the subtly dry finish of this sunset-hued ale.

i dont know that this really is a wild beer, it seems just bacterial and kettle soured, tangy and clean, not woody or bretty or ambient or anything, but i do not know for sure how it is made. what i do know, is that its summery and delicious, and the natural tangerine character really sets it off, refreshing and clean, even if a little too acidic to drink a ton of, at least for me anyway. the color is pale orange, its close to clear, and it has a decent little white head on it from the tap. sharp lemon in the nose from the lacto, some white wine astringency too, but the citrusy notes in the souring profile accentuate the juicy tangerine, which makes this feel like summer to me, oily and rindy too, so its not too sweet when i drink it, and i taste a little something more to this each sip i take. there is a sort of candied thing to the center of this when the tangerine hits, but its also sour enough that its pretty short lived, and the whole thing seems to finish almost prematurely. i couldnt drink a bunch of these, but i like it. the clean nature of the pucker, the honest fruit, and the high effervescence all make it quite pleasant, the low alcohol is cool too. its been amazing having this sudden influx of ecliptic beer around the market, i am a huge fan of pretty much all of it! this seems like sort of a sister beer to carina the peach one, but i like it better...

edit: had this from the pint can last night, even lighter than i recall, with minimal grain body or taste and all the fruit right on the swallow, dry and tangy without being too aggressive, i think maybe toned down a little since i had it the first time, really nice, refreshing, quenching, authentic tart ale. job well done.

Clear pour with a light head. Faintly fruity odor, bit of citrus. Pleasant taste, bit on the thin side, low carbonation. Dry finish, nothing odd or out of balance. It's refreshing and different, but we won't go out of our way to find another. In a refillable 500 ml bottle. No trace of a date anywhere to be found.

12oz can poured into 16oz, knock-off perfect pint glass.

Medium hazy dark straw color, over an inch of white head. Minimal retention, no lacing. Fruit, grain and tartness at the front of the scent. same on the tongue, with the sourness being bolder.

Light, crisp body, with a dry, tart finish. Drinkability was fine, about what was expected. Overall, OK-ish brew. Likely one-and-done for me, YMMV.
