Interesting fruity brew with a dark side. Pours a clear golden yellow with plenty of foam in the Troubadour tulip. Aroma of peach and tangerine with a touch of cedar. Sprightly and tangy on the tongue.
A nice dose of malty sweetness to begin. Flavors of warm grain and papaya, with orange marmalade to finsh. Some woodsy and herbal notes linger, and there's just a note of grapefruit peel, but it's not overly bitter. From the 500 ml bottle, part of the "Five Years/Five Beers" series.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a somewhat hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and lightly tropical and dank hops, orange, light stone fruit and mixed tropical fruit. Flavor follows with pale malt, citrus and fruit hops with a touch of dankness, undifferentiated citrus, stone and tropical fruit with only light lemon and grapefruit very distinct. Good dank and juicy hop finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This does a nice job of delivering on its name, quite juicy hop flavors. Although I did not get distinct individual fruit notes, the mixed fruit result was very pleasant with estery character. With the name and light haze I was prepared for a hazy IPA experience, but this was juicy while delivering a good bitter finish. I'm pleased with this one. Nice collaboration.

Poured from 25 oz. bottle into a wine glass (I was in a hotel and it was the only glass available). A slightly hazy, golden-honey color with a creamy, bright white cap and thin film of lacing. A very subdued nose featuring sweet malt and whiffs of grapefruit and lemon peel. The lack of smell is compensated by the taste: a classic West Coast IPA with dry, clean malt and bitter, biting hops. As the glass warmed the malt sweetened a bit. It has a crisp, lite mouthfeel which belies its 8.5% ABV. Overall, this is an excellent West Coast IPA in every respect but its smell. It’s a great collaboration between two top brewers.

Deep amber body; thick, frothy head; thick rings of foam step down the glass. Intense floral and citrus smell; floral bouquet. Well-balanced malt, hops, and alcohol presence; mild malt presence; exquisite hop bitterness with some subtle fruitiness; well-hidden alcohol content. Medium-heavy body; nice boozy warmth; semi-dry overall.
I expected a hazy IPA based on the name, but this is a straight-on classic west coast DIPA. Superb dynamics going on, balanced and complex. A righteous collaborative effort.

16.9 fl oz , 8/13/19, poured into an IPA glass. Golden orange with a three finger fluffy white head, slight haze. The smell is bitter hops, pine, some tropical fruit notes. Taste is right in line, with some stone fruit notes, though it is more muted than the nose. Good balance. Mouthfeel is touch above medium, a medium low amount of carbonation which introduces a touch of creaminess. Overall, a good collaborative result. High %, but does not drink like a IIPA.
