The 2023 Moon Room Series is our ode to all things lager beer. Originally hailing from Düsseldorf, Altbier means “old” beer, or “brewed in the old way” in German. Ecliptic’s take on the style is a well balanced, copper-hued ale with spicy noble hop flavor.

16oz cans from Tavour. Dark amber pour, one finger fluffy off-white head, lacing. Malty aroma, toasty, nutty with light sweetness. Taste is full, malty, sweet leading to a mildly dry finish with minor bitterness. Really solid all the way through.

Rudy, copper-colored body; lively, dense carbonation; lightly cloudy; thick, fluffy off-white head. Nice malt aroma; nutty with a light roasted grain quality; a touch of spiciness. Very light malt taste; lightly roasted nuts; hop spiciness; herbal bitterness. Medium body; a bit thin and watery.
The beer certainly comes across like a mild brown beer. The looks and smell are very impressive while the taste and mouthfeel somewhat weak. Still, a nice change of pace from pilsners and IPAs.

A Tavour Treat. Pours a dark copper color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of spices and roasted malts. Taste is spicy with a tangy finish. Hoppy but not overly bitter.
