this could be fresher than it is, but im still glad to be having it, after the recent changes with ecliptic i wasnt sure id be having any more of their beer at all, so i cant complain, and its cool this has a new hop in it, although the beer overall i thought was quite balanced, not necessarily a crazy showcase of this varietal or anything, but its tasty stuff, subtly unique, and plenty drinkable, an enjoyable pint for sure, hopefully the ecliptic stuff keeps coming! blonde and clear, quite light in its malt construction apparently, although the body isnt thin or anything, great carbonation from the tap. the aroma and flavor on this show bready and crackery pils malt beneath hops that lean meyer lemon before going a little bitter, its dry and crisp, nothing at all from the ferment, simple in a good way, which is generally what i am seeking in pale ale. the hops have some lightly oily character but are short of dank and resinous, and its not really piney to me, more modern, pineapple candy, lemongrass, tangerine, maybe subtle melon, that sort of thing, actual grass too as it warms a little, nice with the biscuity grain base and minerality this has. its all snappy and lager-like to drink, crisp and easy, well enough carbonated, and with moderate back end bitterness. pleasant beer, perhaps a little less striking than i expected it to be, but i can tell its not quite peak in terms of freshness. still glad to have had a crack at this, and ill look for more beer using this hop, the first i have seen from hop quality group, did not know breeding was part of what they do, way cool!

Draft at Hops & Bottles. Golden pour, light cloudiness, silky head, rings of lacing. Light malty aroma, traces of fruit and hops. Taste is biscuity, fruity, very refreshing on this hot high desert day. A touch dry at the finish.
