Jing-A (京A) Brewing Co.

Arrived around 6 p.m. on a Saturday evening. It started off mellow but the music slowly got louder, the lights dimmer, and the place more crowded as the night descended.

Food wise, I was impressed with the true American barbecue offered. My ribs had a smoke ring on them! Outside of the pickles which were definitely "Chinese tasting", it was an authentic BBQ.

There's a wide variety of beers (approximately 20 on tap). This place is willing to experiment; they had a Gose, Saison, and a Session (along with the traditionals). Even conventional beers will be slightly off kilter like the Koji Red. Besides, the traditional beers rated high on their own merit.

 

Busy, big bar with a lot of patrons at night. In a trendier part of town with a lot of bars. The beer quality is very good, relative to China, with a fair amount of tasty selections on tap ranging from IPAs to stouts. Service was quick and easy at the bar, although the seating is limited because the place was so crowded- we ended up drinking in the outside area where there were some bar stools. Cool vibe, nice place to hang out with friends on a Friday night type of thing. The place was a bit difficult to find for a visitor, though- the cab driver had to go through all these gated areas and parking lots to get to it, so it was a bit tricky at night. Fun place to hang out.
