Dog friendly, child friendly.
Plenty of seating indoors and out.
Food, beer, music
Thrilla In Vanilla # 10 is very, very good.
About 8 brews to choose from on tap.
Service was quick and personable
My one complaint is I drove an hour to get here for a Brewery tour and was told there'd be no brewery tours today.
Normally, not a big deal, but I had an email confirmation saying there would be a Brewery tour, it would have been easy enough to let me know the brewery tour was off, because I would not have driven an hour one way just to drink a couple of beers.
I emailed the owner, we'll see how it all pans out.

V: Double Barley's taproom is in a big warehouse off the highway - nothing scenic about it - but that's no big deal. They have a comfortable taproom with a good bar and ample seating. It's not an overwhelmingly massive place, which works for it entirely.

Q: Looked to be a high level of quality with the beer - nothing stale around here.

S: Service was quick and friendly, though I didn't quiz them on their beers.

S: A good array of beers here. They had eight taps with a couple of IPAs, some imperial stouts, a hefeweizen, a milk stout, a porter, and an amber. There's nothing particularly out there style-wise, but what they have is easy to like. A solid group of beers all around.

Stopped in on a weekday evening and was very impressed. The taproom is fairly large and there were some outdoor tables. The decor is warm and intentionally rustic. The staff was knowledgeable about their beer and enthusiastic. When I asked if a brewery tour were possible they quickly flagged down the owner, who gave a lengthy tour to me and several other interested visitors. There were about a dozen beers on tap including several barrel-aged and limited release beers. The ones I tried were well-made, with the highlight being the just-released Bourbon Barrel-Aged SteakCake Stout. There was a short food menu, but I did not try any.

It is well worth your time to stop in, and keep an eye out for beers from their expanding barrel program.

Off a fairly busy hiway-redone industrial building. I was surprised how quiet it was on a Friday at 530 but there were cars around back and folks outside in the beer garden. Decent sized bar with high top tables behind it. Service was great-I ordered at the bar before the bartender could get over to our table, but from there on out it was table service. Had a flite and then dove into the SteakCake stout and the Touche IPA-both were excellent. The wife and I had a lite meal there as well-food was very good. Dropped a quick $100 on food and beers to go before I knew it-they gave me 2 free glasses and some stickers. Could not have been any better an experience. Of the 3 breweries I hit in NC and SC this week this was by far the best. Not much else around Smithfield but if you need a pit stop on 95 this is for you.

This place has an amazing feel. It appears to be fairly new, and has been very well put together. Off of a business highway in a repurposed warehouse, they have put together a sweet looking, modern/rustic bar area. Long, L shaped bar, with plenty of high-top tables. There are also a couple of lounge-type areas with stuffed chairs and couches, and a flat screen tv. Also, there is a great outdoor patio with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables, and it sounds like they have live music out there at times. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and the bartender was awesome. Extremely friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and extremely attentive. Beer to go in the form of bombers and growlers. They have food, including some tapas items and a daily specials menus including some sandwiches and salads. 8 or so taps (a couple had run out), and it sounds like they rotate seasonals along with their flagship brews. Definitely worth stopping by!
