400 forent. Served on-draught into a 2dl pilsner glass at a beer bar in Budapest. Reviewed from notes taken Summer 2014.
HEAD: One finger wide. Thin and white. Leaves consistent thin lacing as it recedes. Retention is bad - ~1 minute.
BODY: Milky translucent yellow. Sort of an orange juice-redolent look. Nontransparent. I see no yeast or sediment.
It's a strange look for a wheat ale, but I'm optimistic.
AROMA: Orange citrus, fresh wheat, zest, pulp, and unbecoming cream. Strange for the style, and not very appealing.
TASTE: Milky and creamy - which clashes with the fresh citrus and clean wheat. Ample yeasty vitamin-y notes (Sacch). Not balanced well at all, and built strangely - was the fermentation temperature way off? I don't care for it much, but it does have average duration, depth, and intensity of flavour. It's pretty simple, yet still lacks cohesion of flavour.
TEXTURE: Lightly coarse. Milky and creamy. Wet. Unrefreshing. Not boozy, oily, hot, astringent, harsh, or rough. This texture fails to suit the taste particularly well. It's decently executed.
OVERALL: I'm largely unimpressed with this - especially given the quality of some of Hopfanatic's other beers. I wouldn't get it again, and it's even overpriced by Hungarian standards. Not worth trying, but drinkable. Discerning drinkers will find it average, but unremarkable.

Nice label, nice idea. Let's see what's the result.
Pours cloudy with a nice pale gold look. White foam, lacing that lasts. All good.
The smell is strange. I get fermented fruits, banana, some mango and a bit of dried biscuits.
Taste follows. Esters, banana and a bit of clove upfront. Behind that, the hops ruin all that sweetness. I get just an unbalanced drink. It's like mixing parsley and banana. Doesn't work.
Too bad.
