Mosaic hops all day and toasted coconut make this a highly well received Bridge and Tunnel creation. It's like a beer and a malibu had a baby....

This was another beer that I picked up late last year the Total Wine in Totowa, as it looked pretty humorous. Not the biggest fan of coconut here but somehow, this worked as it wasn't a bad take on the style since it was easily accessible while not being terribly strong, as it went down relatively easily!
To no one's surprise, this poured like dank pineapple juice as it was fitting for the style. A moderate and uneven head topped this off as the lacing left behind was nearly nonexistent, as only scattered spots stayed behind as I worked my way through this. Lots of coconut, pineapple, and exotic tropical fruit were in the nose as the taste had some peach, stone fruit, and jack fruit that made this quite dank and somewhat heavy-handed. A bit sticky, slightly burning, and needing water for a chaser, the carbonation was light as there was a ton of rind in the back that turned out to be this beer's hallmark.
The alcohol was spot-on and like the other offering that from Bridge and Tunnel that I picked up that day, this also needed a date on the can. Not a bad take on the style but with so many better offerings available, this was worth a go to mindlessly kick back with, while waving adieu to the virus...

Bridge and Tunnel Brewery "FxxK THE VIRUS"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$6.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: A very hazy golden body is capped by a full head of white foam that seems intent on remaining right where it is. The aroma is clearly of coconut, and I think pineapple. There's definitely some other fruitiness there but I'm not quite sure; to me it seems like pineapple but maybe that's the cocnut suggesting it to my weak and feeble brain. On to the taste... the coconut remains and I'm getting fruitiness - but not necessarily pineapple, it's more berry-like - and a lot of cedar or woody spiciness. There's an edge of acidity to it. I should have noted earlier that there's nothing on the label about what's in it so the coconut could be real or it could be from some kind of flavoring, or both. Back to the taste itself, there's a fair amount of stuff going on but not a lot of it is really clear so I'm just going to give you my impressions of what I think I'm tasting right now. OK, all of the aforementioned items plus some bubblegum, grassiness, apple, ...nectarine, ...and mango ~ "Can you know the mighty ocean? Can you lasso a star from the sky? Can you say to a rainbow... 'Hey, stop being a rainbow for a second'? No! Such is Mango!", am I right? As it warms I'm also getting some pine in there, and that comes out more in the mainly dry finish along with some of the woody spiciness. It's really an interesting beer. I got a lot of the coconut at first but as you drink it you become accustomed to it and then the other flavors appear. I wasn't sure that I was going to like this but it's charmed me. So what else. It's moderately bitter but still dry with the piney spicness, mild acidity, and some "hop bite". The mouthfeel is medium bodied on the light side, and it's gently bristling with carbonation. The head held up well and although it's thin I still have a solid surface covering and some wide splashes of lacing across the glass. It's unusual, and compelling, just like Mango! (For those who are not familiar, Mango was a Saturday Night Live character written and performed by Chris Kattan.)

Had a chilled 16 oz can poured into a pint glass.
Handed to me upon reaching a weekend destination. The beer is a hazy orange to yellow color with frothy bleached white of about 1 cm.
Aroma is a lot of peach and hints of citrus and mild coconut. Not boozy and not really any caramel or maltiness.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with soft texture and mouthfeel. Carbonation is mild and rolling too.
Flavor is a lot of peach as was the nose. Some light citrus and the coconut is on the finish. No booziness and the coconut lingers after the swallow.
This isnt a style I chase, but I found this beer enjoyable and glad to have tried it.
Probably worth a shot if you like NEIPAs.

"Coconut New England Style IPA"
!6 ounce tall can direct from the brewery 2 days ago...I don't see any canning date or other freshness indication on the can.
Pours darker amber, with a brownish/plum flesh hue, hazed/clouded/murky, under a lasting medium khaki cap that leaves, ample fine bubble scattered lacing and nice looking sheeting on the glass.
Sniff of earthiness and some stone fruit.
Super smooth in the mouth and as it flows over the tongue.
Complex, smooth, densely flavorful, and thoroughly worthy. More stone fruit, ripe pineapple, bananas, yes mild coconut...tropical fruits abounding..delicious creation....go get some
