On-draught at the brewery. Billed as a "Black IPA" [sic].
Roast, cocoa, chocolate malt. Subdued hop flavour is present, but it isn't the piney hop flavour that tends to work best in Cascadian dark ales...more of a less interesting floral and vaguely fruity flavour.
Doesn't work terribly well. Feels like they forced hops on a dark ale and the clash of flavours leaves it imbalanced.
Drinkable in any case. Not a beer I'd buy again, but it's good to see another stab at the style about.
