a super fruity an well made blackberry sour ale from these guys, i think less a wild ale and more a berliner type as a base beer, front end soured, clean and lactic, bacterial but crisp, with a balanced acidity running through it, enough to make this piquant but still drinkable, and good to cut through some of the obvious sweetness of the blackberries, which are heavy handed in here, really jammy ad intense, but also really natural in both aroma an flavor. gorgeous color, stained glass fuchsia pink, dead sexy. this was the only sour beer we had in here, but it is good enough to suggest these guys should play around with the style a little more, this was one of my favorites of them all. the berries are huge in here, summery and concentrated, juiced almost, a little tart too, and enhanced by the citrus note in the sour profile here. the grain aspect is really minimal in flavor, although this does have a little body. more carbonation would suit it well, its a little still for how puckery it is, as much juice as it is beer in this state. tasty stuff though, lots of fruit and a nicely developed sourness. thirst quenching and deliciously natural. well done!
