I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery in New Orleans.
Appearance: rich dark brown hue with a thin layer of tan foam atop.
Smell: quite malty with a sweet character; the aroma is highly reminiscent of malt extract. That is not by itself a bad thing, but it just makes this beer less interesting to me.
Taste: roasty, with a little bit of toffee character and plenty of bitter character from the roasted malt. Not bad!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a reasonable porter, but it doesn't really grab me.
