Appearance: Pleasant red-gold, white cap, abundant lacing.
Aroma: Hop forward resting on a rich malt core. Some touches of malt caramel with hop overlay.
Taste: Malty rich with hops to the fore, in the middle and the finish which is slightly hop bitter. More flavoring and less bitterring hops would make for a better balance.
Texture: Toothsome in a medium way. leans toward the rich side.
Overall: I think they're headed in the right direction with this one. Enough ABV (5.65) and malt to counterbalance the 65 IBU yet the hops stick out a bit so a hop back may be in order. Interesting and worth trying more than once.

First had poured from 12-oz. bottle into nonic pint. Beautiful beer. I regret being so slow to try this amber and the other of Yalobusha's first two year-round beers, its "signature" River Ale.

On drAft, served in shaker pint. Amber in color, clear, with decent head. Just a bit of hop aroma, mostly caramel malt. Well balaced taste, medium body and carbonation.

Beautiful colored amber ale - the hop character is there, 65 IBU, but not as pronounced as you'd think it would be. Fades away brilliantly. Quite a creamy, balanced amber.

Great amber. Even better as a barrel aged.
