Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Very sweet aroma of fruit hits you immediately and lingers. Moderately carbonated, very easy on the palate, especially for the alcohol content. Very tropical but not too citrusy, a little sweeter than I expected. Overall a nice brew, Ive been very impressed with Firefly and I will visit if I ever can (I am local!).

SAmpling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into a snifter. I picked up the can straight from the brewery on the release day. This beer seems like it is similar to the retired beer listed from 2014. But different ABV and no other reviews recently so here we are.
The beer pours a clear goldenrod color with minimal eggshell white head of .5 cm that fades to a wispy surface layer and tight, yet thin edge layer. Some scattered lattice on the glass after each sip. Several streams of carbonation rise to the surface of the beer after the pour.
The aroma is some resin and pine sap notes of hops with a little citrus rind as well. I do get a little biscuity malt that pokes through the hops, but no hint of the elevated booze on this beer.
The first sip reveals a slightly syrupy and sticky texture in a fairly thick body. The carbonation is fine and sort of prickly as it rolls across my palate. The physical traits allow me to know this is a big boozy beer.
Flavor is slightly sweet up front with some caramel and a bit of sweet fruit and then sticky resin and pine sap come full throttle. These hop flavors linger for a long time on my palate and are fairly bitter with some grapefruit rind notes on the finish. I also get some black peppery booze which gives a bit of heat after the swallow. Yes this is a big beer.
I do find it drinkable for the high ABV and enjoy the big bitter hops. Definitely worth a shot if you are a hop head and looking for something that isnt a juice bomb but is still a hop forward beer. Nice job Firefly!

Wow this beer is fantastic, hops all over the place with such a delicious citrus aroma on the nose.
Out of all the IPA's, DIPA's and triple IPA's (this was my first triple) this is the most drinkable at such a high abv percentage. Next to Dogfish head's 120 minute which tastes more like wine, this beer is killer sweet and bitter and after one 8 oz pour you will be stumbling to wherever your'e off to next.

Straw colored IPA that smells like tropical fruit. The alcohol was well masked, and the tropical fruit comes through. It had a taste that lingered, but I wasn't really able to identify. With a few tweaks this could be a really good double(triple?) IPA.
Served in a flight. ABV was around 10%, not the ~8 listed here.
