Notes via stream of consciousness: This is "brewed with vanilla bean, cacao, coffee, & lactose". Sounds pretty good. I'm going to guess that it's what some people call a "white stout" but let's see... yeah, I think so, it's a cloudy deep-golden/amber in color beneath a tall head of creamy white foam. There's some coffee-bean in the aroma, some vanilla, and sweet golden malt. It's not a really bright aroma but that's OK. On to the taste... well there's definitely vanilla there, and they sprung for the real thing! Awesome! The coffee-bean flavor is strong as well, as is the sweetish malt. What else was added? Cacao and lactose. Yeah, I get the cacao but it's not strong, and lactose doesn't really taste like anything, it's just a mildly sweet sugar. There is some bitterness to it but not much, and I don't really get it until the swallow as it's got a lot to fight against prior to that. There's also a touch of fruitiness that I'll say is like apple, and perhaps berry. It's a nice, full but not overly complex beer. It's easy to drink, although it does seem that it'll build on the palate after a while. Personally, I can sense the lactose which I find kind of chalky, but it's not too bad and most people don't seem to be able to detect it at all. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a bit of a dextrinous feel, and gently crisp. It's definitely too sweet for an everyday beer, but that's not what it's intended as - it's an occasional beer, and a nice dessert beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
