a decent pint of beer here, a little astringent in feel, which is odd in this, but overall its got a lot of flavor. its a malt driven beer, light copper in color like tarnishes pennies, with a nice off white head from the tap with nice retention. the beer has a little more haze to it than i am used to in the style, but still looks lively and appealing. the aroma here is neat, with some bready yeast, a toasted malt character, notes of graham cracker and raw dough, along with a subtle nutty element too and a touch of sweetness. most of this is there in the flavor, and on top of that i get a red apple note, almost a apple skin tang here, something up with the yeast thats not quite right, but it doesnt kill the beer for me. i still like the malt complexity here and the flavor of the yeast as well, just the little bit of acidity it seems to have produced is out of place for me in this style. fuller body though and a nice roundness about it. close to being a great example of the style, but the fermentation just isnt quite right. almost all the beers we had in here were close to being excellent but had one element that was off...
