Berrings koolputtersbier is made for cafe 't Vijgeblad in Beringe. It's named after the people that worked in the mines and off course is black as cofffe. Head is well lasting and has a yellowbrown head. Nose is lots of coffee and burnt malts, chocolate, billyberry and very fresh overal. Taste is sweet, alcoholic, roasty and again lots of billyberry before a light but fine bitterness follows. Moutfeel is litle sticky and has further a red wine mouthfeel. Further clean and good. Drinkability is also fine but be aware, I wouldn't give this one 10% ABV.
Sampled again 7-2-06 @ vlaams steenkoolmijn museum in Beringe BB end 2007 and great pleasure to drink and enjoy!
