This was another beer that I picked up at a Walmart in Alabama when I was away from home a few months back. This was the second offering that I had from Folklore and it was an enjoyable take on the style that was easy to quaff as it checked off all of the proverbial boxes and had a recessed alcoholic presence to it.
Brassy and somewhat muted in hue, this was topped off with a lively foam that softly settled down. Thick spots of lacing were left behind with a ring topping them off near the center of my pint glass. Pine, dew, weed, and malt were in the nose as the taste was quite leathery, bitter, and reminiscent of something from the left coast. Grapefruit twang, acrid citrus, and hop oils coated the palate as the carbonation was present, but light enough to let them linger and fully emerge once this completely warmed up.
A bit of spicy bread and earthiness stuck around in the aftertaste as this had a soothing, warming effect on me that made this feel cozily familiar once I finished this off. Best before 3/12 with "FP" written below it (on the bottom of the can), this held up well without any sediment or skunk to be had. The IBU's listed on the can were 36, and not 40 like on the website, but everyone one of them were here as this was ideal for rocking back and forth with on any front porch, any time of the year. Glad to have had this beer from the Heart of Dixie!

I tried this beer on tap at Swampers Bar located in the Marriott Shoals. It poured a clear orangish with white head that left a nice ring lace. The scent had citrus notes. The taste was sweet citrus at the front but finished slightly bitter. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.
