I don't see a date listed on the can.
Appearance: As soon as it was opened it shot foam out of the top. In the glass the head is also massive and white with no signs of going down. The body is a slightly cloudy straw yellow. Good retention but spotty lacing.
Aroma: Blueberry fills the room as soon as the beer sprays out of the can. A closer inspection reveals a spicy white pepper aroma, some bubblegum, and a hint of clove. Oddly the blueberry aroma that is in the room isn't in the glass. It's like it is hidden or buried.
Taste: Up front there is a vinous grape and berry flavor. It tastes like noble hops up front. Jelly donut flavor comes through in the middle which is kind-of cool. Towards the back there isn't much of anything different; it's mostly herbal hop flavor. The aftertaste has more of that jelly donut character. Sometimes pepper and clove can come through at different times when drinking the beer, but it trends towards the finish of the beer.
Mouthfeel: The beer is on the upper edge of light bodied with a nice texture. Easy to drink. Very mild bitterness and very mild astringency.
Overall: The label on the can calls this a "Blueberry Plain Jane Belgian White Ale." The beer does smell like blueberries if you're far away from it and it does have a blueberry-like taste, but it mostly tastes like a jelly donut. It's worth picking up if you like fruit flavor in beers and enjoy a little bit of spice to a beer. It's worth trying or buying a single. I probably wouldn't buy it often but I could pick it up from time to time and I enjoyed it.
