Served from 500ml bottle at cool temperature into straight pilsner mug. I added this bier to Beer Advocate; it isn't even listed on their website, so I'm not sure on the exact style, I suspect that it doesn't fit into the BA styles, somewhere between a Helles and a Marzen / Oktober Fest. It is a winter lager, whatever that means. 5.5% it isn't particularly strong and the colouration certainly doesn't resemble the usual Oktoberfest / Marzen amber colour, it is a straight Helles golden colour.
L) Bright golden colour, clear, lots of big bubblers, actual disappointing thin bubbly head.
S) Lager smell. Warm fruity malts in there.
T) Nicely soft mineralesque weak Munich malt flavour. No hop bitterness. The first mouthful had a bit of metallic taste, but this disappeared.
F) Brilliant soda-like refreshment. Fizzy, clean, smooth. No skanky aftertastes as expected from any Bavarian bier. Faultless here.
O) For Winter Lager, read: perfectly sound Munich Helles. Easy drinker, very refreshing.
