Picked up a four pack of pint cans. Date on can: 03/08/2025.
Pours a crystal clear golden copper in color with a finger thick white frothy head on top with decent retention that eventually forms a thin layer of lacing on top which coats the glass as you drink. Carbonation is on the lower side with no visible bubbles rising up and some small bubbles appearing when you swish the beer around in your glass. Classic look for the style.
Aroma is quite floral with lemon, apple, grass and a hint of white pepper and a solid sweet maltiness in the background to round it out. Not overly pungent, but inviting.
Taste follows the nose well. Pilsner malts up front with the hops ratcheting up as it sits on the tongue with grass, lemon peel and light apple and just a hint of pepper. There's some zesty spice on the swallow and then a mellowing blend of cereal grains and bitter lemon and apple lingering on the tongue afterwards.
This one is medium bodied with a tiny bit of chewiness and some lovely zest on the swallow. Drinks smooth and clean and finishes crisp and dry. Classic pilsner mouthfeel, though perhaps every so slightly heavier than I would like due to the lingering sweetness. Otherwise very drinkable and refreshing.
I love a good pilsner and this one did not disappoint. It's just a touch sweeter than I would like, but otherwise very enjoyable. As mentioned, it hits on a lot of classic pilsner characteristics, seems very true to the style to me. Would happily grab this one again when I'm in the mood for a nice pilsner. Prost!
