Ok...let's see how it compares with the Dutch version ; ) Ingredients says "extract of hops" as opposed to hops...not a great sign.
Looks pretty identical, head has quite small bubbles and looks great in my Krombacher pilsner glass. Tastes best from the bottle, with the extra efferfescence. Fairly mild aroma that seems to lack the initial hoppy aroma of the Dutch version. I'm detecting fairly sweet malt and quite light, kind of Czech/German fused style hops.
Far more flavour than some of the other budget pilsners, and the even more budget pilsners (Perlenbacher, Tuborg - which are seriously tasteless etc). Heineken Romania seems to be far superiour to the Carlsberg owned United Romanian breweries, which make some of the most tasteless beers I have ever had. This is great value, and it's certainly worth paying a little extra for, as opposed to the lowest priced alternatives.
Tastewise at least it's fairly well balanced and the mouth feel is ok. The effervescent slight skunkiness is an interesting flavour that reminds me of having sips of my dad's Heineken beer when I was about 7. It is not too sweet and has a subtle bitterness that is basically defines what a "beer" is. If an alien asked me for a beer that was typical for earthlings to drink, I would probably recommend this. The Dutch one is slightly better though, but both are average, neither is good ; ) But for me this is a good score for a budget lager/pilsner. This is probably my favourite commercial Romanian brewed pilsner.

Brewed under license, it's one of the few local pale lagers that actually get close to the original recipe.
Bready malts, low grainy sweetness. Dry and somewhat crisp. The skunky notes are (of course) present, but not ruining it, at least for me. The hoppy finish is noble and reminds a lot of a German-made lager.
Pedestrian on a greater scale, but more than decent in this country.
