A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2014 (bottled May 2014), so it's rather out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Hopefully still in decent condition.
A: Poured into a cervoise. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy golden-amber hue with plenty of chunky sediment and low carbonation. Produces a huge head of frothy white foam with good retention; this slowly subsides to a surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of white grape, citrus, grass/hay, faint spice, earthy yeast, mild malt and subtle stewed hops. Pretty good.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a yeasty character and a dry, bitter finish. Notes of white grape, citrus, mild melon, grass/hay, faint spice, earthy yeast, subdued malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with light carbonation and decent body. Could be livelier. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity hops, earthy yeast and faint stewed leaves.
O: Not bad; though my impression is that the hop character has faded. Looks OK (if yeasty), while the aroma and flavour are a decent blend of fruity hop notes and earthy yeast. Body is alright but could be a tad more carbonated. Drinkable but not mind-blowing. Worth sampling if you have the chance.
