From a 330ml bottle. Bottled on 13/06/2016, drunk on 28/10/2016. Drunk at slightly below room temperature.
L: Shiny black with one finger of tan-coloured head that reduces slowly to a ring. Leaves some spotty lacing.
S: Strong coffee then earthy woodland. Unfortunately short-lived.
T: Mildly astringent mix of piney hops and dark malts.
F: Thin mouthfeel with a sharp, bitter finish. Moderate carbonation.
O: A more bitter and less malty porter. The typical chocolate and coffee flavours are dominated by sharp and bitter new world hops. Worth a try but not a favourite.
NB. Also tried this beer at fridge temperature. The hops were accentuated further, to the detriment of the overall balance. Best drunk at room temperature.
