A 330ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2014, so it's rather out of date. Given to me last year for my birthday. Described on the label as an IPA hopped with Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy marmalade-amber hue with fine sediment and good carbonation. Yields a massive head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a thick surface layer.
S: Aroma of intensely fruity hops with hints of citrus, peel, mild tropical fruit, melon, subtle pine, faint spice, earthy yeast, caramel malt and stewed hops. Complex and delicious.
T: Tastes of seriously fruity hops with a powerful bitter finish. Notes of orange peel, citrus, mild pine, hints of tropical fruit, faint white grape, spice, earthy yeast, caramel malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a robust hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Hop oils stimulate the palate. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, pine/citrus, earthy yeast and mild malt.
O: A tasty IPA with a committed hoppy character. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are amazingly fruity. The hops are underpinned by yeast notes and subtle malt. Good body. A classic American-style IPA and a delight for the senses. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.
