A 330ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2018 (bottled Aug 2017). Purchased a little while back from the Harvey's brewery shop in Lewes. A collaborative effort between Burning Sky and Harvey's, this IPA is hopped with Goldings, Ernest, Liberty and Citra, and is fermented with yeast strains from both breweries.
A: Poured into an IPA glass. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy orange-amber hue with fine suspended sediment and intense carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before steadily reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of fruity, grassy hops with hints of citrus, orange peel, subtle tropical fruit, hay/leafiness, mild herbs, earthy yeast, light caramel malt and faint stewed husks. Pretty good.
T: Tastes of fruity hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, white grape, grass/hay, mild herbs, leafiness, earthy yeast, subtle caramel malt and a faint grainy quality. Dry, followed by a robust hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Could be a tad thicker given the strength. Somewhat astringent. Aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, citrus, earthy yeast and subtle malt.
O: Rather nice, though the hop character is less intense than it might be. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are a satisfying blend of fruity hops, citrus and earthy yeast. Body is OK. Perhaps a tad faded, though drinks nicely. A solid effort from these two breweries - worth sampling.
