Copenhagen 2/2 2023. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Light yellow can with a drawing of city life in Burning Sky's usual style.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a big light beige head. Settles as thin but unbroken, frothy layer of foam crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, sweet and roasted malty odor mingling with a bit of citrus and some black coffee. Dark roasted malts. Brown sugar. Lemon.

Light carbonation Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor Is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Roasted and robust with a light citric touch.

330 ml bottle conditioned, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.8%. Nearly black colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavour is slightly dry, with notes of roast malts and coffee, hints of dark bitter chocolate. Also fairly distinct bittering hops (Target).

L- Superficially black, held to a halogen lamp it's a super-dark and slightly hazy garnet red. Pours with a good looking 5mm deep-tan, fine-bubble head. [ps 10mins later, head holds reeeeally well and forms lacing].
S- Log-fire cinders > hints of smoke and charring, plus coffee?
T- Closely mirrors the Smell^ though the 'coffee'^ tastes more of a coffee/cocoa blend. It's fair to call this 'Robust', it ceratinly is.
F- No risk of rich nor sweet here, mercifully, it is just to the dryer side of neutral.
O- Very nice, despite the haut-contemporary lable it comes over as trad-style though a bit of turbo-pungent version thereof. I read things like 'Robust porter' and it's all a bit yeah-yeah... but no this really is, it's notably fully flavoured. I'd happily drink this again.
ps. Only now do I see from the headers that 'Robust Porter' is a distrinct stand-alone style, well I never...!
440ml can £4 BB: 20/10/21 Bought from TremblingMadness/York for home delivery (DIY pick mixed case) to me in London.
