Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, toasted oat, cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, cookie dough, and vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with char, cocoa powder, cookie dough, vanilla, and oatmeal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a fantastic mix of roast, oat, and chocolate aromas and flavors that make this one super tasty and easy to drink.
