Sad to report that AJ's closed on 8/31/24. A great place for beer, huge selection and knowledgeable, friendly employees. Will be truly missed.

 

 

 

Stopped here on my way out of town heading back to Boston. Looking for 3-4 4pks of local gems. Staff was quite helpful (although challenging during COVID to really dig in and help) and they helped me pick out 3 different local breweries "best of" and I was on my way. All 4 beers were fantastic and I will stop here again next time.

Good selection of cans, mostly from New York State. Even better is a huge number of draught lines for fills and sampling. However, much time and data usage needed on those cans undated. Many can choices were not the freshest but they were here, that won't do for hoppy beers. Worth a stop if in town.

This place has everything...

 

A great local craft beer market. They have a great selection. 99% of thier stuff is stored cold for max freshness. Also have a pretty expansive rotating draft list with very reasonable prices. If you look them up on Facebook you can see when they get new brands in. They post regularly.

My favorite bottle shop in Rochester. This is the best place in town to make your own 6-pack. The selection is great, the single bottle prices are cheaper than at other stores, and almost everything is kept cold. 6-pack prices are a little higher than Wegmans, but lower than other Rochester beer shops.

THE place to go in Rochester if you want the best selection of beers. Staff has always been friendly. They occasionally have beer samplings which is always a plus. A large selection of beers on tap to fill your growler. You can get beers in singles, each individually marked. While the prices are average to slightly higher than average, the great selection they have is worth it.

Their stock seems to be increasing too, as one of their back rooms which previously held little content is now nearly full!

They also think smart. When KBS 2016 was released, they only allowed a certain portion of the bottles to be sold in the AM. This allowed people (like me) to come in after work and not be SOL!

I highly recommend AJ's. It's out of my way compared to other stores in the area, but the drive there is worth it every time.

Decided to go here instead of Beers of the World. It's very deceptive pulling in. It looks much smaller on the outside. Upon entering, you instantly get a 'beer cave' feel - more on that later. The main space is a bit sparse, filled with sale beers, and lined with coolers, which weren't packed when I went, but that's probably for the best because it means that they're going through stock. I entered the back area, which is just a massive spray foam insulation coated space, but has more of a selection than the front coolers. While browsing, an employee was removing soon-to-be shelf turds and marking prices down. Prices were clearly marked, although a little high, but nothing abhorrent. Selection was above average, but as with the normal coolers, there were empty spaces instead of turds. Overall, a nice place.

First stepped in here a few months back and since then they are my first stop. Always a friendly "hello" from the staff when you first walk in and they are very willing to help you find whatever it is you're looking for.

Frigid coolers full of delicious gems from all over the globe. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The beer rare beer hide and seek games are fun to discover rare beers in limited quantities.

Poor service, some employees not knowledgeable about the beers.

Great place! Anything your style they have it. Two large walk in coolers and lots of taps to try.
