On tap at Lock 32 Brewing Company in Pittsford, NY.
Pours a dark black. Not the darkest black I've ever seen, but fairly opaque and ashy looking. Half inch head, and a good amount of lacing down the glass.
Smells like espresso beans, chocolate, smoke, and roasted malt.
The taste is rich and highly roasty. One of the roastier stouts I've ever had, almost like an English stout. Some bitter coffee flavor, as well as rich flavors of dark chocolate, and a tiny wisp of smokiness. A little bit creamy.
Medium bodied, a tiny bit thin/watery for the style, but that's expected with the ABV. It's honestly nice to see how much flavor can be packed into essentially a "session stout." Creamy, smooth mouthfeel.
A pretty good local stout. I would order it again.
