A malty beer aged on oak, this beer is complex and warm, like a hand made quilt. Two row base malt accentuated with Munich, Crystal 40, Carafa II a touch of Black Patent. Balanced with earthy Fuggle hops.

16 oz can from Halftime. Dark brown, but still clear, soft beige head. Looks great in a thistle. Roasty aroma, nutty, hint of sweetness. Taste brings brown sugar, chocolate, roast malts and peat. Finishes a touch dry, lingering sweetness.

On tap at Red Onion, Woodstock, NY.
Mahogany with than film. 3.75
Wood, buttered rum cake and spice. 4.25
Cherry, cocoa, some wood, some cloves, cinnamon, and sarsparilla finish. 4
Almost medium, chewy, no heat. 4
Wintry nose - yummy. Flavor doesn’t quite live up but it’s smooth, not hot, and all the Scotch Ale notes are in the right places. Solid. 4

Tap at Tap and Mallet
Dark brown/ black color with a wisp of a bubbly off white head. Rich toasty light caramel with plenty of dark dried fruits and a touch of smoke. Pretty tasty scotch ale.
