Two row base malt accentuated by Victory and Munich malts. At almost three pounds of American "C" hops per barrel this IPA is bursting with hoppy goodness.

A: slight haze; deep gold in color; 1 finger off white head that receded to a splotchy cap; little lacing;

S: a citrus soapiness with grapefruit and pine in the background;

T: follows the nose from start to finish; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: OK, but not something I would want again;

Solid finger plus of eggshell white foam, mild dimpling but the retention is very good, nice and dense, thick and sticky lacing streaks. Very light haze to the copper orange hued liquid, large number of beads produce bubbles throughout, easy to see how the head gets replenished. Crisp nose of biscuit, cracker and peppercorns, the white to pink grapefruit not as arch as it might be, not much pine nor dankness, this cleanliness perhaps diminishes the oomph of the apple, apricot fruit scents, overall displays energy without being forceful. Medium-bodied and closer to full than light, carbonation goes a good way in breaking up its solidity without substituting creaminess in its place. More pink grapefruit to lime citrus here and seems quite malty, smooth and sweet. The dry cracker element consistent from the nose, more piney here by a wide margin. Only after a few sips does the peach, apricot, mango fruit really settle in. It’s a very good example of a beer that really weaves itself into a whole rather than bunch of soloists and has plus level drinkability. Can see how some might find it lacks “wow” factor but that’s likely the point.

Pours a hazy golden color with a well retained half inch white head that settles to a ring and leaves excellent lacing. Smells predominately of citrus fruits with a hint of tropical fruits and pepper. Tastes of grapefruit, lemon, pepper, floral notes, grapefruit pith and an earthy quality that I cannot identify. Medium bodied and carbonated, very dry and puckering mouth feel.

Happy to be 2d reviewer of Hubar at Rattle N Hum NYC.
Im bumping up the rating.
a) Body pours as a hazed golden with firm 1 finger that splashes plenty of lace.
s) Big, which pleases me next to my steak ceasar (perfect meal here). Floral, citrus, intense grapefruit. Puckering.
t) Bigger, upfront like the aroma, with a growing bitter, pepper, drying, spicy finish, Nice flavor see-saw from fruit and flowers to pepper and crisp biting finish.
f) Per tasting notes, see saw that delights and cleans/contrasts with food.
o) Offers an original long-wooden, cedary note, difficult to pin point, which is exciting. Try 24.
I'm all in on this IPA.

Portrayed as a 'double iPA' at 7.5 abv this is one where the alcohol content creeps up on you and leaves a refreshing citrus taste
