Two row base malt accentuated by Victory and Munich hops. At almost 5 pounds of hops per barrel, this double dry hopped DIPA is bursting with hoppy goodness.

OK, so I was born in Poughkeepsie, NY - just like this beer, which is my first from this brewery. . . .
A: Poured from the can into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is an odd color - sort of hazy, brownish-orange, with a thin wisp of whitish head on top.
S: Old school, San Diego or West Coast-style nose, reminds me of Stone Arrogant Bastard in some ways. Think pine and citrus over a solid caramel malt foundation.
T: Resiny, piney hops over a good amount of caramel malt and brown sugar. Reminds me, again, of hoppier Strong Ales like Stone AB.
M: A wee bit thin for a DIPA, carbonation is too low.
O: OK. Call this an American Strong Ale and I'd be pretty good with it, but I don't think it hits the DIPA spots so great. It tastes good, and I like it - I just think calling it a DIPA is a bit misleading, on a few fronts.

Poured from a 16oz can into a speiglau ipa glass.
Look is a slightly cloudy clear orange with a full white head.
Aroma is pine orange and biscuit malt.
Aroma matches taste. Lots of delicious hop pine notes with a slight orange.
Maybe not the most balanced beer, but the discordant malt hop notes work well together fighting for your palate.

Appearance: orange in color with some yellow highlights. Short 1/2" head falls to surface foam.
Smell: citrus and a hint of pine.
Taste: caramel, grapefruit, pine, lemon zest, and an earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp from start to finish.
Overall: an easy drinking DIPA that is straightforward.
