On tap at Mill House Brewing, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Pours a clear caramel color with visible carbonation. A moderate head dissipates quickly, however, a ring of lacing retains throughout.
Aromas of toasted malts, biscuit, brown bread crust and caramel. The hops aroma is subdued with gentle notes of grass and earth.
The taste highlights bready and toasty malts, along with crisp cracker and sweet caramel. Yet, the hops spices are bold, yielding earthy flavors, notes of grass and a hint of citrus. The hops bitterness is easy going yet assertive m. The finish is clean and crisp.
Medium to slightly light bodied. The mouthfeel is very crisp while the carbonation is lively.
Pretty much on the money as far as the Vienna Lager style goes. I enjoyed it a lot.

East Rock Brewery almost has a monopoly on lagers in my town, and for good reason. But it's nice to try a new take on old world styles like the Vienna Lager. Hill House's Short Daze is perfect for a drink outdoors right before dusk, with enough malt to feel a little like meal and enough carbonation to sparkle between nibbles of beef jerky and almonds. No off flavors off the can, either, so when this comes fresh it's tasty and savory without sacrifice.

From a can. Good herbal / lager hop aroma with some biscuity notes.
Pretty deep amber color to style with a wispy white head but little to no carbonation.
Flavor is.... lacking to say the least. Some mild toasted malt along side milder hints of earthy hop with a watery. super light on the tongue body. Evan as it warmed it had little flavor, but then again, nothing to really dislike except the expectation of something more.
Finish is nice and German lagery - mild bitter with a dry lingering herbal spiciness.
Maybe better for a hot July day than a cool April afternoon.
