On tap at Mill House Brewing, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Pours a clear brassy golden color. A modest head dissipates quickly but yields lacing.
The nose opens with notes of melon and grass. There are also aromas of citrus, honey and graham cracker.
The taste aligns with the aroma with its flavors of melon and grass. The palate is dry and punctuated by peppery spices and bright citrusy notes of grapefruit and lemon. The malt flavor opens up as it begins with a dry and cracker profile and moving towards a subdued graham cracker sweetness. There is an assertive earthy bitterness throughout, while the finish is crisp and dry.
Medium to light bodied; one of the lighter Belgian pales I’ve had. The carbonation is lively and the mouthfeel is crisp.
Its simplicity is nothing earth shattering, however, it somewhat grew on me as it warmed. Light and sessionable, it serves its purpose as an easy to drink Belgian Pale Ale.
