Eagle Creek "Peppermint Stout"
on tap at the Distillery, Savannah, GA 21 Dec 2014
$5 for 16 oz.
Peppermint water!!! It looks good, it smells good, and it even tastes good (well, OK) but it's completely lacking in malty backbone which leaves it vapid. I honestly can't believe that they actually released this, all they had to do was brew another batch that had some malt to it and blend the two. Avoid.

Appearance: Pours, pitch black with deep brown edges. Tight brown head. OK lacing.
Aroma: Minty herbalness, light roast, touch of some dark fruit. Nothing too intense.
Flavor: Dry acrid roast, medicinal-herbal mint leaf, some flavor bordering on sour. I don't think it's acid from a bacterial infection, the combo of medicinal and burnt just manages to have that same sensation.
Mouthfeel: Dry, watery, with a lingering astringency.
Wish I had something good to say about this brew...
