Copenhagen 19/6 2018. 50 cl bottle from Best of Beers web shop. A happy Chimpanzee with a human face on the label. Very subtle.
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium-sized bubbly beige head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick creamy layer of foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is dark, sweet and boozy. Brown sugar, roasted malts, raisins, tobacco, hints of smoke and a solid amount of booze. Bitter coffee notes.
Medium strong carbonation providing surprisingly lively mouth sensation. Thick, creamy texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet without becoming cloying. Lighter coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is strongly sweet with a solid alcoholic after-burn.
A full, sweet and boozy fellow.

500 ml bottle, as Syndikatet Festaben Imperial Rum Stout, from Erling Christensen Møbler, Sindal. ABV is 10.0%, IBU 70. Black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts, mild coffee, chocolate, dark sugars, rum-raisin, mild spices. Rich and medium sweet flavour with the same ingredients as the aroma, also hints of liquorice, decent hop bitterness. Would definitely buy again.
