English: This Imperial Stout is based on a blend of pale, wheat, caramel and black malts. The aroma from lots of American hops mingles elegantly with the aroma of dark malts, after which the beer will surely surprise, when spicy tones such as coffee strikes the taste palette - along with the hops. Håndlangeren can be enjoyed alone, for example as "the night’s last beer", but it also commits itself excellent with more powerful dishes such as cheeses. It will evolve with age and can be stored for many years.

August 2013: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%, IBU 72. OG 1093, FG 1023. Very dark brown to black colour, large tan head. Strong aroma of American hops, notes of fruit and spruce. Also roasty notes with coffee, dark chocolate, mild spices and vanilla. The flavour has notes of strong coffee, dark bitter chocolate, liquorice, pepper and American hops with resin. Distinct bittering hops in the finish. Impressive beer.
