Copenhagen 30/6 2016. 50 cl bottle from Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel, Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø. Primitive drawing of somebody who probably should resemble some kind of spy on the label. He looks rather thoughtful.

Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Very moderate lacing.

Aroma is sweet exotic fruit with citric notes. A hint of fermentation and decay in the odor as well.

Light carbonation and oily palate. Gently tingling texture.

Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a pronounced bitterness. Long bitter aftertaste and dry finish.

I do not understand why this IPA should need to work undercover. It is perfectly fine.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 5.6%, OG 1055, FG 1012, IBU 45. Malts are pale, rye, biscuit, cara, wheat. Hops are Kohatu, Pacific Gem, Pacific Jade, Galaxy and Cascade. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Very nice aroma of NZ and US hops, notes of tropical fruits and citrus, some sweetish malts and bread dough in the background. The flavour is first fruity but dry, then a fairly massive bitterness takes over, without sufficient malts to back it up. Peppery and very bitter finish. In between I had hoped for more hop complexity, which unfortunately does not come through.
