We had this one-off ready for a completely different label, but decided at the last minute that a powerful and resilient barley wine would be a fine symbol of the plight of the Ukrainian people.
About 1000 bottles have been tapped and we donate 5 kr. per bottle for Red Cross efforts for the victims in Ukraine.

Copenhagen 4/11 2024. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Drawing of an unhappy looking refugee girl on the label.
Pours opaque, murky, mahogany wit a small off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the ides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sugary, malty odor mingling with a liqueur-like boozy accent. Brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Raisins. Hints of nuts. Sweet almond liqueur.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, viscous, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter with a distinct sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Wholesome treat with a sweet nose.
