Borgmesteren or "The Mayor".
This classic bottom-fermented German beer has a full body, character and pleasant sweetness. It is round and soft in taste.
Syndikatets Doppelbock was created in an honorable collaboration with the mayor of Hjortshøj north of Aarhus.
The color is brown and reddish like dark copper. The traditional malty taste is complemented by delicate hints of caramel and chocolate.

Copenhagen 18/3 2023. 33 cl bottle from Craft Makers Collective web-shop. A very pale and bald mayor on the label.
Pours clear dark maroon with a red hue and a small off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a strong sweet, sugary odor mingling with a bread, malty scent. Brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Dark alcohol. Rye bread and honey.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong, sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is a bit sugary.
This Mayor seems to have a very sweet tooth.
