4oz pour in a straight wall tumbler glass on tap at Eudora Brewing Company.
Appearance: Cloudy ruby red / amber beer. Thin white foam across the top that died back a bit with some occasional strands of lacing noted.
Smell: Fruity, heavy caramel, definite boozy smell.
Taste: Rich toffee and caramel, along with some raisin, grape, and fruit flavors. Mild bitter finish. Definite hit of smooth alcohol under it all lending a liquor-like quality to the brew.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, nicely thick, and chewy. Mild carbonation.
Overall / Drinkability: A smooth sipping beer great for calling a night with in a snifter. If they had a bottle of this I definitely would have bought it and taken it home for another night to serve on a colder night. A very good and deep flavored Barleywine - definitely something to have again.
