A bold stout from Eudora. First brewed in early 2015--a great way to start off the new year for this up and coming brewery in Kettering, OH. Poured from a growler into my Hopslam tulip. Dark dark brown. The smell is smoke and roasted malt. The smokey malt taste hits you first, followed up by a hint of molasses; not as much chocolate as I was expecting. I was looking for some hop bitterness which never materialized. Instead, I got a mild peppery burn--nice! The mouthfeel is much smoother than I expected, with a nice thickness befitting this imperial stout. No watered-down wanna be here, this is the real deal. Reminds me a bit of the Alaskan smoked porter I had last year--a true compliment. They could almost call this a smoked stout. I call it wonderful.
