Poured on nitro-tap at the brewery and served in a snifter, the beer is a jet black, motor oil looking color, with a dense, creamy, tan head. This head sticks around a while, too. Very nice. Nose of molasses, vanilla, milk chocolate, and coffee. Very rich and sweet. Flavors are rich milk chocolate and mocha, with an underlying booze kick and bitter coffee backbone. Very chocolate throughout. Smooth and velvety in mouth, but definitely heavy, too. Rich and bitter aftertaste that is heavily roasted, with the coffee and chocolate blend continuing to reign supreme on the palate. Smooth, creamy, lingering finish. This is a very solid brew!
