Madame Butterfly is a French Oak Tart Blonde. This beer was aged with Brett and wild yeast from S.C for over a year in French oak barrels. The delicate balance between light and tart make this beer a true demonstration of craftsmanship and patience.

Gem clear, dark amber with occasional carbonation. A rocky, golden head falls from half an inch to a thin wisp, leaving rings of lace on a Sam Adams Infinity flute glass.

Wow! The oak tannens and bretanamyces are powerful. Rosemary and carmelized sugar are also clearly discernible.

The flavor is fruity, but otherwise follows the nose. Sourness is strong, yet under control due to the sweet and bitter components. Warmth draws outpine needles, while the finish opens strong and slowly fades. Like many beers in this style, there is a dusty component to the flavor.

The body is light with a thin woolly texture. Light scratchy carbonation adds to the dryness. Alcohol is as expected.

Madame Butterfly is a pleasant, herbal sour beer, well suited to a relaxing day and long sips.
