From the brewpub 32 oz growler. Sampled on May 30, 2014.
It is a delightful looking amber-red with the mahogany tone and reddish hues leading up to a modest cream colored head and good clarity considering it is unfiltered.
Lots of roasted and toasted malts on the nose. A sort of toasted bread crust thing. Some sugar sweetness and yeast.
The body is medium and almost creamy.
The taste has the same malt characteristics as the nose except there is this sharp bitterness that kicks in on the backside. It does not linger long at the finish. More Red than Amber in style.
