Pours a lovely deep rich amber, crystal clear with a healthy white head that has some solid staying power.
Nose seems a bit muted, spicy and danky, somewhat floral.
Taste makes me wish this was a popular style. The rich malt backbone is propped up and enhanced by the spice of the rye. Out front I get a nice blend of grassy/herbal, funky/dank, and fresh plum.
Mouthfeel is nice and full without being syrupy.
I wish I had this beer on shelves near me, I wish more brewers made rye IPAs, I wish I wish I wish. Great IPA, great antidote to the haze induced doldroms, really one to savor.
